Our Pastor...

...is Rev. Syd Weedon. Ordained in 1981, Rev. Weedon has served churches in Colorado, Indiana and Kentucky. He is married to Marian K. Weedon and is the proud father of two teenage sons, Alex and Daniel Weedon.

"My priorities are preaching and pastoral care," says Rev. Weedon. "The Gospel is truly good news and hope for us in this life and the next. The sermon and worship experience should lift people up every time. If I didn't believe that the Gospel provides real power for living, I wouldn't be doing it. Prayer is important, too. We get together every Tuesday evening to pray for people. It's still something of a mystery to me, but I know that powerful things happen when Christian people pray and trust that God hears those prayers."

Rev. Weedon likes dogs, guitars, cooking on the barbecue grill and bad jokes. "A bit of fun and laughter is a good thing. It has healing power."

As to his plans for ministry at Berry Blvd. Presbyterian Church, he says, "When I first came to Berry, I found a very loving and accepting community of people. I immediately felt completely at home. I simply want to build on that strength and enhance the ministry of the church in the Berry/Taylor neighborhood."
